Quiero saludar al pueblo gitano, a la comunidad gitana, a través de este portal y agradecer a la Federación Maranatha y a este portal, la oportunidad que me brinda como Consejera de Bienestar Social del  Gobierno Valenciano, de la Comunidad Valenciana. La posibilidad que se me brinda en un día como este, día internacional del Pueblo Gitano, de dirigir este saludo a una Comunidad, a mujeres y hombres de una Comunidad que a lo largo de su historia y en circunstancias muy complicadas y de situación de vulnerabilidad, han sabido, a lo largo del tiempo, ser conscientes de su riqueza en cuanto a su cultura, sus tradiciones, a sus costumbres. Que han sabido anclarse en las mismas al mismo tiempo que han luchado por conseguir la integración de todos sus miembros en la Sociedad. Hombres y mujeres que a lo largo de esa trayectoria nos han dado un ejemplo constante a todos, en la lucha de sus Derechos, que han buscado y que buscan a través de la educación y de la formación de sus hijos, de sus generaciones, el dar algo más, no solo a su colectivo, sino al resto de la Sociedad.

Como miembro del Gobierno Valenciano es una satisfacción el poder trabajar con tantas entidades y tantas asociaciones representativas del Pueblo gitano, que a través de sus programas y de su lucha diaria, lo que están buscando es la igualdad de oportunidades de todos los seres humanos, y quiero hacer una referencia especial a la Federación Maranatha, con quien tengo la satisfacción de poder trabajar a través de la Consellería de Bienestar Social y, a través de quienes he podido ver esa lucha por los más desfavorecidos, por aquellas personas que están en una especial situación de exclusión social, de riesgo de exclusión social, de vulnerabilidad y con quienes este año en concreto, he podido trabajar en el Plan de inclusión social que estamos elaborando, que hemos elaborado desde la Generalitat Valenciana con su estrecha colaboración que agradezco a través de este portal, con el convencimiento de que el trabajo que estamos llevando entre todos, con el objetivo común que compartimos, que es el de la integración social y laboral de todas las personas, y en concreto de todas las personas que forman parte del Pueblo gitano, nos llevará a conseguir una sociedad más justa y una sociedad más igualitaria.

I would like to send a greeting the Roma people, the Roma Community, through this website and thank the Marantha Federation for giving me the opportunity as Councillor of Social Welfare for the Valencian Community to do so through their website.  This has enabled me to, on a day such as the International Roma Day, send this greeting to a Community of women and men, who despite difficult circumstances and vulnerability throughout history, have been able to hold onto the wealth of their culture, traditions and customs.  They have never let go of these throughout their struggle to integrate their people in society.  The men and women with such a background are a constant example of how to fight for ones rights through education and training of their children, of their generations to give something else, not just to themselves, but to the rest of society.

It is highly satisfying as member of the Valencian Government to be able to work with the many entities and associations that represent Roma people and who are seeking equal opportunities for all human beings through their programs and their daily struggles.  Through this website I would like to give a special mention to the Maranatha Federation, who I have the satisfaction of working in close collaboration with via the Social Welfare Council, and through whom I have witnessed this struggle to help the most disadvantaged people, those who are in a situation of social exclusion, those who are at risk of being socially excluded and vulnerable.  In addition to this, I would like to mention those people who I have been able to work with this year on the Plan for Social Inclusion that we have been developing and have developed at the Valencian Government.  I am convinced that the work that we are doing together and the common objective of achieving social integration and inclusion in the labour market for members of the Roma Community which will help form a fairer and more equal society.
